Walking through the process of converting a JVC MV-P612U super directional microphone for use with a modern camcorder. Its a professional video microphone from the mid 1990s, but it has a non standard lead and power requirements. The super directional mode means it can work like a shotgun mic, but in stereo. In order to use this today it needs some minor surgery. In this video I connect the microphone to two different circuits to find a good way of wiring it to the camcorder safely. I check each circuit with an oscilloscope to observe how they respond. Then I show how to rewire the existing cable so we can use the original connector. Finally, there are a few clips at the end so you can decide yourselves how well it has worked. This is my first video, hope you like it.
